What can be registered as a trademark?
As a trademark, all graphically representable signs such as words, images, letters and numbers can be protected. For example, you can register your company name as a trademark or individual product names.
However, there are also three-dimensional designs and colour compositions that can be protected as trademarks. However, brand names which are merely descriptive of the products offered are excluded from protection.
Who may register a trademark?
In principle, trademarks can be registered by private individuals or legal entities. A transfer of the trademark from the applicant to another person or company is possible at any time.
